Technology Class Content Overview
Technology literacy changes as advancements occur in available tools and classroom integration needs. Today, we see technology literacy as the ability to responsibly select and use technology to create, communicate, collaborate, research, and problem solve, in an effort to develop lifelong knowledge and skills for the 21st century.
All students have access to the computer lab on a scheduled basis. Grades K-2 are introduced to basic computer skills, educational software programs and applications that provide a foundation for inspiring engaged digital learning. Keyboarding skills development, instruction and application of Google Drive tools are the focus of Grades 3-6, as well as increased exposure to educational software programs and applications to support classroom curriculum. Grades 7 & 8 review and reinforce technology skills, as they advance towards project-based learning, focused on real world use and exploration of current technology tools and trends.
