African drumming. Painting. Acting. World music of all kinds . . .
These are just some of the words that help define one of best summer educational opportunities for students in New Hampshire . . . and it is right in our backyard!
Strafford School is fortunate once again to host Strafford Summer Arts—a week-long day camp run by theatre, music, and art professionals.
Guided by New Hampshire Theatre Project (NHTP) director Genevieve Aichele, instrumentalist Randy Armstrong, and art instructor Jessica Anderson, Strafford Summer Arts Camp includes dramatic theatre and movement instruction, storytelling, costume design, and set decoration/setup.
In addition, Randy brings a wide variety of world instruments the participants are excited to play! Students learn to play multicultural music, as well as sound effects. No prior experience is necessary.
We also have AMAZING Coe Brown interns who bring great energy and enthusiasm to the program.
The emphasis of the camp is on collaboration, gaining self-confidence, and developing an appreciation for world cultures through theatre, art, and music. And, of course, fun!
